What is ECP?
ECP Therapy acts as an external “cardiac assist device” helping the heart perform more efficiently with little effort or stress during treatment. This treatment process deliver oxygen-rich blood to all vital organs inside the body including the heart. This process overtime improves the mechanical operation of the heart delivering more cardiac output (stronger heart) with less effort resulting in a more efficient vascular system
The mechanical process of External Counterpulsation Therapy systematically restores nourishment to areas of the body that have slowly deteriorated over time with age. With the restoration of oxygen-rich blood flow (nutrients to tissue) to all of your organ will result in a significant improvement in overall health. ECP rehabilitation therapy brings improvement in function of the heart, liver, kidneys, brain, eyes, and all your outer extremities that need nutrients for sustaining efficient function.

How Does ECP Work?
The ECP Therapy treatment gently but firmly compresses the blood vessels in the lower limbs to increase blood flow to your heart. Each wave of pressure is electronically timed to the heartbeat, so that the increased blood flow is delivered to your heart at the precise moment it is relaxing. When the heart pumps again, pressure is released instantaneously. This lower resistance in the blood vessels in the legs so that blood may be pumped more easily from your heart.
ECP Therapy may encourage blood vessels to open small channels that become extra branches. These channels or collaterals may eventually become “natural bypass” vessels to provide blood flow to heart muscle. This contributes to the relief of heart disease and cardiovascular symptoms.

Benefit of ECP therapy
- Increase alertness (brain function)
- Increase in Energy (brain function)
- Reduce symptoms of Shortness of Breath
- Reduce symptoms of Fatigue
- Reduce heart palpitation
- Reduce leg pains from peripheral vascular disease
- Strengthens the heart muscle by reviving parts of the heart that have hibernated from lack of blood flow
- Increase in perfusion creates natural bypasses around narrowed arteries in heart as well as other organs such as the lung, kidneys and liver
- Sustainable relief of symptoms related to Ischemic Heart Disease
